SPOTTED GUM
Corymbia maculata (syn. Eucalyptus maculata)

The word “Spotted” refers to the soft mottled color caused by weathering of the outer tree as it sheds elliptical strips of bark. A very tough timber, the color varies
through pale grey browns and soft creams to a rich chocolate brown. Its frequent wavy grain can produce an attractive and highly valued fiddleback effect.

Origin: Eastern forests extending from the Victoria New South Wales border to
Queensland.

Hardness: Janka hardness is 2473. Red Oak is 1290.
